Hi, I’m Colin

And I’ve been into computers since before personal computers were even invented.

But I also have the qualifications and real-life experience… dating back to the 70’s.

  • I’ve worked as a Senior Avionics Technician in the RNZAF, working on test equipment repair & calibration plus aircraft instrument, electrical, communications, and RADAR systems
  • I was a Senior Computer Engineer for CCL Business Systems / Trilogy Business Systems servicing Qantel Mini Computers, Inforix Data Capture, and CPT Word Processing systems for Nelson & Blenheim clients
  • Then, in 1992, I started my own company and incorporated Professional Computer Solutions Ltd
  • Since then, I’ve been the primary IT contractor to Talley’s Group Ltd – Nelson Division, where for 20 years I had primary responsibility for all vessel & shore-based workstations, servers, and networks.

So, as you can imagine, I know a thing or two about computers and what to do when they play up.

When I’m not out and about helping people with their computer issues, I’ve found some cool ways to keep busy in this beautiful part of the country…

  • I’m a private pilot and used to be the Nelson Aero Club president
  • I’m also a pilot of high-performance radio control helicopters (you’d think these would cost less than flying the real thing – and you’d be wrong!)
  • I’m a PADI Master SCUBA Diver trainer – I don’t get out much anymore though, that damn wetsuit shrunk – must have been faulty
  • I’m also a Medic First Aid Instructor Trainer
