There’s no “one size fits all” solution to computer repairs.
Few faults are ever identical, and the very best tools to fix them are knowledge and experience, along with the ability to logically and quickly isolate the problem(s) to get the issue sorted ASAP. Plus, I use professional diagnostics tools that many IT support providers don’t have.
In far too many cases, people don’t have full and recent backups.
So, my first priority is always to do what I can to ensure your data is safe (this often means making a temporary duplicate of the hard drive).
From there we’ll use whatever hardware and software tools we need to diagnose and fix the issue(s).
Computer repairs are something I’ve done on a daily basis for several decades now – and not surprisingly, I’ve learned a thing or two in that time.
